π Start Your Own Watermelon Club
Bring Palestine solidarity organizing to your campus. Build community, take action, create change.
Why Start a Watermelon Club?
Build a community of students who care. Take meaningful action together. Create lasting change at your institution. Connect with a growing movement across Canada.
Getting Started
Want to start a club? Three steps: Find 3-5 interested students (you donβt need a crowd), Know Your Rights (essential before organizing), Pick 1-2 Weekly Actions (start small). Key principle: start small, build sustainably, center Palestinian voices.
Already have a group? Level up: Weekly Actions (sustainable activities), Role Templates (structure your team), Strategic Campaigns (long-term change).
Complete Guides
Weekly Actions - Sustainable activities to build power: Tabling (visibility & recruitment), Vigils (solidarity events), Film Screenings (education + recruitment), Social Media (digital organizing). 15-20 minutes to read.
Creative Activism π¨ - Make organizing fun! Zines, stickers, posters, aesthetic letters, crafting parties, guerrilla art. Turn activism into art, art into action. 20-25 minutes to read.
Role Templates - 5 essential coordinator roles: Communications (social media, press), Outreach (coalitions, recruitment), Research (investigations, fact-checking), Events (planning, logistics), Finance (budget, fundraising). 20-25 minutes to read.
Strategic Campaigns - Long-term organizing for structural change: Divestment (4-phase process, 1-3 years), Speakers (bringing Palestinian voices to campus), Media (challenging bias, shifting narratives). 25-30 minutes to read.
